C. Ashwath ( ಸಿ. ಅಶ್ವತ್ಥ ) was an music composer and exponent of Bhavageete and Janapada Geete (folk songs) in the Kannada language.
C. Ashwath died on December 29, 2009 on his 71st birthday. He was suffering from liver and kidney failures.

Ashwath composed the music for over 22 famous Kannada films including "Santa Shishunala Shareef", "Mysooru Mallige" and "Nagamandala".
He has sung the "State Farmers Anthem" of Karnataka State. "Negila Yogi"
