Kendriya Vidyalaya is a system of central government schools under the Ministry of Human Resource, Government of India.

There are 981 Kendriya Vidyalayas, from which 977 are in India and 4 are abroad. A total of 10,33,516 students (as on 30.09.2009) and 49,276 employees.

A body known as the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan oversees the functioning of these schools.
