The rapid-fire spread of a close-up photo of the US Airways plane that crashed in the Hudson River in New York City but with no loss of life.

A collision with a flock of birds apparently knocked out both engines, but rescuers pulled all 155 people on board into boats as the plane sank.

Several boats surrounded the plane, which was slowly sinking.
