Bhuvan is a satellite mapping tool similar to Google Earth and Wikimapia. It was developed by Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).

Bhuvan official launch in August 2009. Bhuvan will be upgraded every year. "This will be able to give you an image from only 10 meters away"

"Bhuvan" which means earth, will get the images from the satellites and provide high resolution imagery data of the order of five meter. It can show the topography, altitude, depth and other features of any specific locations," he added. Such information are necessary when undertaking a massive exercise like flood management or post-cyclone disaster mitigation.

Bhuvan will use the data recorded by the Indian satellites only. Prototype will be available by the end of November and the product is available in March 2009.
