DSC
aimed at recruiting around 25,000 teachers will be notified shortly.

The government of Andhra Pradesh recruits teachers to the government schools through DSC. Those who have completed D.Ed and B.Ed are eligible to appear for DSC. Those who completed D. Ed shall be eligible for Secondary grade teacher who teach upto class 7.

A major chunk of the new posts will be of school assistants of whom about 16,500 would be appointed in the high schools while the rest would be teachers. The work on issuance of the notification has already commenced and the School Education department is considering the vacancies arising up to December 31 this year, according to School Education department principle secretary C.B.S. Venkataramana.

The government has decided to raise the upper age-limit for open category candidates to 39 years from 38 as of now, for all recruitments of teachers under District Selection Committees (DSC). The decision, which was taken by Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy

School Education Minister C. Damodar Rajnarsimha said the age limit for the scheduled castes, scheduled tribes and backward classes candidates would be 44 following the government’s decision to allow five-year relaxation across the board.
